Eligibility for admission (Indian Students)

• XII pass from any branch with minimum 50% marks for the general category and 45% for students of SC and ST category.
• Qualifying the Symbiosis Entrance Test(SET) and group discussion and personal interview of the School.

The following are the reservation rules that shall be followed while admitting Indian students
a. Scheduled caste : 15%
b. Scheduled Tribe: 7.5%
c. Handicapped students : 3%
d. Management Quota: 15%
    Kashmiri Migrants: 2 over and the programme intake.

Policy of admission against vacant seats under reserved category

In case some seats remain vacant due to the non availability of suitable candidates in the category of reservations then the information about the vacant seats will be reported to Symbiosis International university. With the permission of the Vice Chancellor the seats will be converted to the general category seats and shortlisted students will be offered these seats.

About Symbiosis Entrance test

1. All the Indian students are required to take the Symbiosis Entrance Test(SET). SET is an examination that students must take to be eligible to seek admission to the degree programmes of Symbiosis International University (SIU). Even those who wish to apply for Management quota subsequently will have to take the entrance test. Without this test the no student is entitled to admission to any course of SIU.

2. Since the degree programmes are offered under different faculties of SIU, the appropriate category of the SET must be given.

To communicate interest in any in any particular programme, it is absolutely mandatory that the prospective student fills in the application for that particular institute.

• Log on to the www.set-test.org or www.symbiosisschoolofeconomics.com
• Choose the link to Symbiosis School of Economics on SET website
• You can apply online till Monday, 11th May 2009.
• Pay the application fee Rs. 1000/- as specified below.
• Fill in the on-line application form and submit.
• Take a ‘Print of the application form’ and paste a recent color passport size photograph and sign on the form. Send the application form along with payment and photocopies of the documents as requested to Symbiosis School of Economics 3rd Floor, SCHC Building, Senapati Bapat road, Pune 411 004.
• The application with the payment should reach Symbiosis School of Economics on or before 13th May,2009.
• After the declaration of the SET result, the institute will conduct a Group Discussion and Personal Interview for the short listed students.
• The schedule for the same will be published on the website: www.symbiosisschoolofeconomics.com on 18th May 2009 by 6.00p.m
• The criteria for assessment for Group Discussion shall be interpersonal Skills, presentation Skills, Group Communication Skills, Leadership Qualities etc.
• The criteria for assessment for Personal Interview shall include academic performance in 10th standard, style of response to the panel, excellence in extra-curricular activities, if any.

Payment instructions
Payment of Rs.1000/- can be made by any one of the two options- Demand draft or credit card.

Payment Via Demand draft

In case of payment by DD :
1. Print a copy of your application indicating your choice for Symbiosis School of Economics.
2. Get the demand draft for the total amount of Rs.1000/- from any bank in favour of Symbiosis School of Economics payable at Pune.
3. Send the DD along with application to reach the SSE on or before 13th May, 2009.
