In the context of a globalized process of development that the world is witnessing the ‘static’ approach to education has become defunct and so also the ‘static’ approach to teaching Economics. It is to dynamise economic teaching and practice and to create economic leadership for a new world order that the Symbiosis School of Economics is offering a B.Sc. degree in Economics under the aegis of the Symbiosis International University.

The B.Sc. Economics programme would aim at imparting a well rounded course structure which would retain the ‘traditionals’ in the programme and yet, at the same time, would aspire to plug the loopholes and limitations of only a traditional approach.

Our programme would offer a wide array of ‘out of the box’ subjects such as Accounts, Environmental Economics, Economic Policy Analysis, International Relations, Political Economy of India, Research Methodology to name a few – not emphasized in the traditional economics graduation courses.

We aim at creating, through this unique programme, a class of graduates in Economics who would be equipped not only with the strong foundations of Economic Theory, but also with all practical skills required to tackle and analyze the real world business and economic issues.

This would no doubt give him an edge over others in terms of critical thinking, logical analysis and also a deep understanding of crucial Economic issues – enabling him to make a mark in whichever career he decides to embark upon.

Welcome to the B.Sc. Economics programme at Symbiosis !
